Fresh Bites Red is a compact sweet pepper for a sunny windowsill, counter, or patio pot. Its thick-walled snack peppers mature from green to bright red and are suited to fresh eating or cooking.
## Fruit and placement
[PanAmerican Seed](https://www.panamseed.com/Products/191109990052771/edible-potted-pepper-fresh-bites-red/) identifies Fresh Bites Red as a sweet snack pepper with thick-walled fruit that changes from green to red. Peppers are about 2¼ inches long by 1¼ inches wide. The breeder lists a 12–14-inch height, 8–10-inch spread, summer bloom, and sunny exposure. As a Kitchen Minis plant, it suits a bright indoor windowsill or counter as well as an outdoor patio table.
## Growing conditions
Grow in a warm, sunny position in a container with drainage. PanAmerican Seed recommends keeping this selection on the dry side during greenhouse production and supporting the stem when fruit weight builds. For household containers, [University of Minnesota Extension](https://extension.umn.edu/garden-and-home/yard-and-garden/gardening-in-minnesota/growing-peppers) recommends full sun and warm weather. The extension guide recommends consistent soil moisture for good fruit quality; check container moisture often and water thoroughly when needed. PanAmerican Seed gives about 85–100 days from transplant to green fruit and 100–115 days to ripe fruit.
## Maintenance
Water thoroughly when the mix begins to dry and let excess water drain. Avoid waterlogged roots. Pick red peppers at maturity for snacking, salads, or cooking, and add support if the compact plant leans under its crop.
