Create design onlineAbout Peppi Red Pepper
Peppi Red is a sweet snack pepper whose small, pointed fruits ripen from green to red. [PanAmerican Seed](https://www.panamseed.com/Vegetables-Herbs/plant_info.aspx?phid=048309051004463) describes fruit 3½–4½ inches long and notes that the plant is tall, vigorous, and indeterminate. The fruit is often seedless when the plant is isolated from other non-seedless peppers.
## Harvest and use
The breeder lists roughly 55–60 days from transplant to green fruit and 75–80 days to ripe fruit. Peppers can be picked green or left to color fully; ripe fruit is suited to fresh eating, lunchboxes, and appetizer plates. If other pepper varieties grow nearby, cross-pollination may result in seeded fruit.
## Site and support
Choose a warm location with full sun and well-drained soil. Oregon State University Extension’s [pepper guide](https://extension.oregonstate.edu/catalog/ec-1227-grow-your-own-peppers) explains that peppers need a long, warm season for fruit to mature. The [Ball Seed product profile](https://info.ballseed.com/PlantInfo/?phid=048309051004463) recommends in-ground growing and gives mature dimensions of 36–48 inches tall by 24–36 inches wide.
## Maintenance
Water consistently through the growing season and stake or trellis the tall stems as fruit develops. Transplant after frost danger has passed. Harvest at the green stage or wait for full red color, depending on the planned use.
