About Prism Pepper

Prism is a sweet midi bell pepper selection that produces fruit in several stages of color on the same plant. The peppers mature from light green through orange to red, so they can be harvested at different stages for fresh eating, salads, or small stuffed peppers. ## Form and Harvest Ball Seed describes an upright plant about 20–30 inches tall and 12–18 inches wide, with early, productive growth. The current catalog labels and rounded metric values match those published dimensions. The selection is a culinary pepper; its foliage and fruit also create a colorful edible-garden display. ## Siting and Growing Grow Prism in full sun in a warm, frost-free season. Ball Seed rates its water need as medium and recommends fertilizing every two weeks in production. Peppers generally prefer fertile, well-drained soil and steady moisture while fruits develop. Give the upright plant room for airflow and support it if a heavy crop bends the stems. ## Growing and Harvest Set transplants outdoors after frost danger passes and nights are warm. Water deeply when the soil begins to dry, increasing frequency for containers in hot weather. Pick fruit while light green, orange, or fully red to enjoy a range of colors and maturity stages. ## Maintenance See [Ball Seed’s Prism profile](https://info.ballseed.com/PlantInfo/?phid=048300001049493), [West Coast Seeds’ Prism F1 listing](https://www.westcoastseeds.com/products/prism-f1), and [Utah State University Extension’s pepper guide](https://extension.usu.edu/yardandgarden/research/peppers-in-the-garden).
