Create design onlineAbout Snackabelle Red Pepper
Snackabelle Red is a compact sweet pepper that produces thick-walled mini-bell fruit, changing from green to red as it ripens. The fruit is about 2–2.25 inches long and wide, with a sweet flavor suited to fresh eating, grilling, and stuffing.
## Fruit and placement
Harvest green or leave the peppers on the plant until red and fully ripe. The [PanAmerican Seed GrowerFacts](https://www.panamseed.com/utility/CultureSheetPDF.aspx?pagename=culture.aspx&txtphid=048300001026809&type=Veg) notes an easy-out stem that helps release the seed cavity for cleaning. Plants reach about 18–24 inches tall and 12–18 inches wide, and grow in a medium container or in the ground.
## Growing conditions
Choose full sun and fertile, well-drained soil. [Utah State University Extension](https://extension.usu.edu/yardandgarden/research/peppers-in-the-garden) recommends regular watering for garden peppers and warns against heavy, poorly drained soil. Set transplants outside after frost danger has passed.
## Maintenance
Keep soil moisture steady while flowers and fruit develop, and water deeply during dry periods. A stake or small cage can support a heavily laden plant, although the breeder reports it grows with or without support. Pick fruit regularly as it reaches the desired color and size.
