About Taquito Edible Potted Pepper

Taquito is a small edible pepper in PanAmerican Seed’s [Kitchen Minis collection](https://www.panamseed.com/Products/191109990043301/edible-potted-pepper-taquito/), designed for a sunny windowsill or a tabletop patio pot. Its upright, conical fruit changes from green to bright red and is described by the breeder as medium hot. ## Site and Growing The breeder lists a compact, bushy habit, sun exposure, and a mature size of about 5–6 inches tall and wide. It also notes that the plant benefits from being grown on the dry side and recommends adding a stake near the central stem when flowering begins to support developing fruit. [Ball Seed’s grower listing](https://info.ballseed.com/WEBTRACKPLANTINFO.ASPX?PHID=191109990043301&env=P) independently gives the same compact size, sun exposure, and red-fruit display. ## Season and Harvest PanAmerican Seed lists summer bloom and fruit about 1.5 inches long by 0.3 inch wide. Green peppers are expected about 85–100 days after transplanting; ripe red fruit follows at about 100–115 days. The small hot chilies can be harvested for cooking, including stir-fries. ## Maintenance Use a container with drainage and a sunny position. Let the mix dry somewhat between waterings, while checking small pots often so they do not become bone dry during warm, bright weather. Add light stem support as fruit develops.
