Create design onlineAbout Trailblazer Pepper
Trailblazer is a tall, upright sweet bell pepper with thick-walled fruit that ripens from green to bright yellow. PanAmerican Seed’s [product page](https://www.panamseed.com/Products/048300001010971/pepper-trailblazer/) describes its flavor as sweet and bright and recommends the three- to four-lobed peppers for stuffing and fresh salads.
## Site and Growing
Grow Trailblazer in sun and allow room for its 20–30-inch height and 12–18-inch spread. The breeder lists a 12–18-inch spacing and an upright habit; [Ball Seed](https://info.ballseed.com/PlantInfo/?phid=048300001010971) independently reports the same size range and sun exposure. The yellow fruit holds its color longer before slowly shifting toward gold or orange, as also noted by [Michigan State University Extension](https://www.canr.msu.edu/hrt/our_gardens/enewsletter/April_2023.pdf).
## Season and Harvest
PanAmerican Seed lists late spring and summer bloom. Green fruit is expected about 50–55 days after transplanting, with ripe yellow peppers at about 70–75 days. Individual peppers are blocky and medium to large, approximately 3.5–3.75 inches long and 3.25–3.5 inches wide.
## Maintenance
Provide a sunny site and steady growing conditions through flowering and fruit set. Ball Seed lists medium water and recommends feeding every two weeks during production. Harvest green or wait for the yellow color to develop; use the thick-walled fruit fresh or for stuffing.
