About Weeping Siberian Peashrub

'Pendula' is a deciduous peashrub with stiff cascading branches and light green pinnate leaves. Pale yellow pea-like flowers appear in late spring, and the plant is often grafted onto a standard to display its weeping outline. ## Size and siting The [RHS profile](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/94775/caragana-arborescens-pendula/details) gives mature height and spread of 1–1.5 metres. A [current nursery listing](https://blomidonnurseries.com/webstore/1-plants/standards/peashrubs/caragana-arborescens-pendula-standard-2/) describes compact grafted plants about 3–5 feet high and wide; visible height varies with grafting. Grow in full sun and well-drained soil. [Plantinor](https://plantinor.no/planter/caragana-arborescens-pendula/) recommends a sunny, relatively dry, sandy or lean site. ## Garden use Give the crown room to drape as a specimen near a lawn, border or low planting. Avoid waterlogged soil. ## Maintenance Prune lightly to preserve the cascading outline. Shorten branches selectively if they reach the ground and remove unwanted shoots below the graft.
