About Walker Siberian Peashrub

'Walker' is a finely textured, deciduous peashrub with sharply drooping branches and delicate compound leaves. Small yellow pea-like flowers appear in late spring; grafting on a standard raises the crown and lets branches cascade. ## Form and size The [National Botanical Garden of Latvia](https://datubaze.nbd.gov.lv/plant/271) records this Canadian selection as fine-leaved, with graceful arching branches, usually grafted high. A [topgraft nursery listing](https://antheiagardens.ca/plant-name/Caragana-arborescens-Walker) gives 150–175 cm height and 100–125 cm spread, while [Cornell's cultivar notes](https://woodyplants.cals.cornell.edu/plant/print/41) give about 5 by 5 feet. These figures describe different forms; final height depends on graft height and training. ## Siting Use it as a specimen in full sun or partial shade with well-drained soil. The nursery listing reports USDA zone 3 and average-to-dry soil; allow branches to hang clear of paths. ## Maintenance Prune lightly after flowering. Remove shoots below the graft to keep the intended weeping crown clear.
