Green Spires™ Upright Pea Shrub

Green Spires® is the trade name for the seedless hybrid Caragana 'Jefarb'. It grows as an upright, oval small tree with dark green compound foliage and bright yellow flowers in June, without the seed pods produced by many peashrubs. ## Selection and size [Morden Nurseries](https://mordennurseries.com/product/caragana-green-spires) describes Green Spires as a seedless hybrid with a mature size of 12 by 8 feet and June flowers. The [Minnesota Department of Agriculture](https://www.mda.state.mn.us/siberian-peashrub) identifies Green Spires® as the exempt selection Caragana 'Jefarb'. The commercial identity is clear, though the hybrid's parentage was not confirmed from an opened source. ## Siting Plant in full sun. Morden lists the selection as an ornamental tree; its compact upright crown suits exposed sites and screens. Provide well-drained soil and avoid a persistently wet planting site. ## Maintenance Water through establishment, then irrigate as needed in well-drained soil. Prune to maintain a clear structure and remove damaged branches.
