Amazon Mist ColorGrass® Carex

Carex comans Amazon Mist is a compact ColorGrass® sedge with fine green foliage, twisting tips, and an arching outline. It brings soft texture to containers and small garden spaces; the breeder lists it as a foliage accent rather than a flower display. ## Form and placement PanAmerican Seed’s current [Amazon Mist profile](https://www.panamseed.com/Products/013606635016018/colorgrass-carex-amazon-mist/) and its [2025 culture sheet](https://www.panamseed.com/utility/CultureSheetPDF.aspx?pagename=culture.aspx&txtphid=202900001016018&type=Ann) identify the selection as Carex comans and describe variegated light-to-medium green leaves with twisting tips. The culture sheet lists 6–12 inches high and 14 inches wide. The breeder’s profile lists USDA zones 6a–10b, consistent with the live whole-zone range of 6–10. Its compact scale suits mixed containers, edging, and foreground plantings. ## Growing conditions The breeder lists sun exposure and the selection for annual production, so its published zone rating should be treated as a garden hardiness guide rather than a guarantee of evergreen performance in every climate. Provide regular moisture during establishment and avoid letting container media dry sharply; the cultivar is marketed for landscape and planter accents. No exact cultivar-specific soil pH or water schedule was found in the consulted sources. ## Maintenance Comb out or trim damaged foliage as needed to refresh the clump. Keep the planting evenly watered while roots establish, especially in containers, and use the listed mature spread when spacing plants.
