Catalina® Pink is a Torenia hybrid selected as ‘Dancatpink’. Its pale-purple upper petals, purple lower petals and yellow-green throat sit above bushy, cascading growth that remains compact while spilling over basket edges. [Proven Winners’ Catalina tip sheet](https://www.provenwinners.com/sites/provenwinners.com/files/pdf/sell-sheets/CatalinaTipSheet-12.pdf) lists Catalina Pink as ‘Dancatpink’; the [US plant patent record](https://www.hort.net/pedia/patent/grant/17025/) describes the same flower pattern and cascading form.
## Site and flowers
Use this selection in a hanging pot, shaded container or sheltered bed where its flowers can be seen close up. The patent describes early flowering and extended bloom in moderate climates; in cooler areas it is commonly treated as a warm-season annual. The Catalina growing guide recommends partial shade or shade and notes the series’ ability to flower in shaded settings.
## Maintenance
Keep the potting mix evenly moist without leaving the roots waterlogged. The Catalina growing guide says deadheading is unnecessary; regular feeding helps container plants continue flowering. Give plants room for the stems to cascade, and shelter them from cold weather.
