About Mediterranean XP Burgundy Halo Vinca

Mediterranean XP Burgundy Halo is a trailing vinca selection with deep burgundy flowers and a bright white eye. [PanAmerican Seed’s exact profile](https://www.panamseed.com/products/063705371012364/vinca-mediterranean-xp-burgundy-halo/) describes its mounded, spreading, trailing habit, late-spring-to-late-summer bloom, 4–6-inch height by 20–30-inch width, and low water needs. ## Garden Use Allow room for the wide, cascading spread in baskets, containers, raised beds, and the front of sunny plantings. The dark flower color and white eye create contrast, while the spreading stems fill space quickly. PanAmerican Seed places this variety in the Mediterranean XP trailing series. ## Growing Conditions Provide sun and freely draining soil. Avoid routinely keeping the root zone wet, since over-irrigation can cause disease in annual vinca. Flowering is listed from late spring through summer and late summer. [UF/IFAS guidance](https://ask.ifas.ufl.edu/publication/fp112) gives species-level advice on drainage and irrigation. ## Maintenance Water enough to establish the planting, then adjust to rainfall and container conditions rather than keeping the mix constantly saturated. Leave space for trailing growth and trim only if stems extend beyond the intended edge. In frost-prone regions, treat it as a seasonal annual.
