Create design onlineAbout Mediterranean XP Dark Red Vinca
Mediterranean XP Dark Red is a trailing annual vinca selection with deep red flowers. [PanAmerican Seed’s exact profile](https://www.panamseed.com/Products/063705371004491/vinca-mediterranean-xp-dark-red/) links it to code PAS555867 and U.S. PVP 200900043, describes a slightly more mounded form, and lists late-spring-to-late-summer bloom, 4–6-inch height, 20–30-inch width, sun exposure, and low water needs.
## Garden Use
Use this compact but spreading selection at the front of sunny beds, over a low wall, or in a container where its stems can extend beyond the rim. PanAmerican Seed describes the Mediterranean XP line as fast filling and notes that Dark Red is somewhat more mounded than the other varieties. Its mature width needs room to develop.
## Growing Conditions
Grow in sun and well-drained soil. Avoid prolonged saturation. Annual vinca flowers through warm weather; this selection is listed for late spring, summer, and late summer. [UF/IFAS guidance](https://ask.ifas.ufl.edu/publication/fp112) gives species-level care and drainage recommendations.
## Maintenance
Water during establishment, then allow rainfall and soil conditions to guide supplemental watering. Check drainage in containers and avoid constantly wet soil. Trim stems only as needed to maintain the intended edge or container shape. In colder climates, grow it as a warm-season annual.
