SunStorm® Red Halo Catharanthus

SunStorm® Red Halo is a compact annual vinca with pink-rose flowers centered by a contrasting white eye. Syngenta lists the exact seed product as an early-flowering, heat-loving, mounding Catharanthus for full sun, with spring-to-summer bloom and a compact footprint. Its breeder code is 70028295. ## Flowers and placement The [Syngenta product profile](https://www.syngentaflowers.com/ams/product/flower/70028295) gives a garden height of 8–10 inches and width of 10–12 inches, and identifies full sun and mid-spring through summer flowering. A [Colorado State University annual trial](https://spl.cde.state.co.us/artemis/ucsuserials/ucsu53010internet/ucsu530102014internet.pdf) describes this exact selection as pink-rose with a white eye. Use it in sunny seasonal beds, small containers, or mixed annual plantings where its contrasting center can be seen. ## Maintenance Treat it as a warm-season annual where winters are colder than its listed hardiness range. Syngenta describes naturally free-flowering, well-branched plants that need little-to-no growth regulator in production; the product profile does not specify a home-garden pruning or watering schedule.
