About Tattoo™ Raspberry Vinca

Tattoo™ Raspberry is an upright, mounded vinca with deep raspberry flowers that mature to soft rose around a dark eye. Its compact 10–14-inch height and 6–8-inch spread suit sunny containers, borders, and mass plantings. ## Flowers and form The [PanAmerican Seed profile](https://www.panamseed.com/Products/063707916004443/vinca-tattoo-raspberry/) identifies Raspberry as *Catharanthus roseus* product PAS1192836. It describes the flowers as deep raspberry, softening to rose as they mature, with an inky dark center. The breeder lists a mounded, upright habit, 10–14-inch height, 6–8-inch width, and bloom from late spring through summer. Tattoo flowers show their strongest color contrast in warm conditions with moderate light. ## Siting Use full sun or light afternoon shade and plant in freely draining soil. [North Carolina Extension](https://plants.ces.ncsu.edu/plants/catharanthus-roseus/common-name/annual-vinca/) notes that annual vinca continues flowering in heat and is useful in borders and containers. The [University of Florida IFAS guide](https://ask.ifas.ufl.edu/publication/fp112) recommends good drainage and reduced irrigation after plants establish. ## Maintenance Set plants outdoors after frost danger passes in cold-winter climates. Keep soil evenly moist while roots establish, then water less often and do not allow the root zone to remain saturated. Modern Catharanthus hybrids usually do not need pinching or deadheading. Remove damaged shoots when necessary and treat the planting as a warm-season annual in frost-prone areas.
