Concertina™ Purple Celosia

Concertina™ Purple (PAS1284112) is a compact crested celosia selected for purple flowers. PanAmerican Seed places this exact product code in its upright Concertina series, developed for pots indoors or a sunny patio ([breeder profile](https://www.panamseed.com/products/014508671004341/celosia-concertina-purple/)). ## Size and use The breeder lists the series at 8–10 inches tall and 6–8 inches wide, flowering in late spring and summer. Its compact size makes this purple form useful as a small container accent or at the front of a seasonal display. ## Siting Provide sun or partial sun and a well-drained growing medium. University of Florida IFAS describes celosia as a warm-season annual and the cristata group as having flattened, crested flowerheads ([IFAS guide](https://ask.ifas.ufl.edu/publication/FP114?downloadOpen=true)). Wait until frost danger has passed before planting outside. ## Maintenance Water evenly during active growth and let excess water drain. A bright position supports a tidy habit and flowering. Remove faded heads if desired; no routine shaping is needed. Treat it as a seasonal annual rather than a winter-hardy perennial.
