Create design onlineAbout Concertina™ Red Dark Leaf Celosia
Concertina™ Red Dark Leaf is a compact crested celosia for indoor pots and sunny patios. PanAmerican Seed lists PAS1284114 at 8–10 inches tall and 6–8 inches wide, with late spring and summer bloom. [See the breeder’s cultivar profile](https://www.panamseed.com/Products/014508671016975/celosia-concertina-red-dark-leaf/).
## Siting and growth
The breeder describes Concertina as an upright pot cristata suited to indoor containers or a sunny outdoor patio and reports this Red Dark Leaf selection as more vigorous than other colors in the series. Celosia generally grows best in full sun and well-drained soil; North Carolina Extension notes wet soil and cold weather are common problems. [Read its celosia growing guidance](https://plants.ces.ncsu.edu/plants/celosia/).
## Seasonal display
The short crested form fits a tabletop pot, window display, or the front of a warm-season container. The breeder’s 4–6 week transplant-to-finish timing is a production schedule, not a promised home-garden bloom date.
## Maintenance
Use a free-draining potting mix, avoid waterlogged roots, and protect the plant from frost. Wait until frost danger has passed before planting outdoors.
