About Sunday™ Dark Pink Celosia

Sunday™ Dark Pink is a plume celosia with deep pink flower heads carried above upright stems. PanAmerican Seed lists this named selection at 28–40 inches tall and about 5 inches wide, and recommends its long, strong stems for professional cut-flower production. ## Landscape use Plant it in a sunny cutting bed or use a small group in an annual border where the tall plumes can stand above lower flowers. The breeder lists Sunday celosias for greenhouse or high-tunnel production and for bouquet filler, line, or volume. Mississippi State Extension also notes their use as backyard cut flowers and as a textural addition to mixed bouquets. ## Flowers and season The breeder identifies this selection by the code CEL1027037. Its plume-shaped flowers are listed from spring through autumn. Flower timing and stem development respond to day length and warm growing conditions. ## Siting and culture Give plants full sun and well-drained soil. Maryland Extension recommends a rich, deep loamy field bed with at least eight hours of sunlight for cut-flower celosia. Maintain steady moisture while the stems develop, even though celosia tolerates heat. ## Maintenance Wait until frost danger has passed before planting outdoors. Harvest stems when the flower heads are fully developed. Fresh vase life varies among cultivars; celosia can also be dried after removing the foliage and hanging stems in a dark, ventilated space.
