Create design onlineAbout Sunday™ Gold Celosia
Sunday™ Gold is a plume celosia selection with golden flower heads and upright stems for cut-flower arrangements. PanAmerican Seed lists plants at 28–40 inches tall and about 5 inches wide, and describes the full plumes and long stems as useful for bouquet filler, line, or volume.
## Landscape use
Grow this cultivar in a sunny cutting bed, greenhouse, or high tunnel, where its warm-toned plumes can be harvested through the growing season. It also adds vertical color to an annual border. Mississippi State Extension describes the Sunday series as a textural choice for mixed bouquets and backyard cut-flower gardens.
## Flowers and season
The breeder identifies Sunday Gold as ‘Balsungoldi’. Its upright plume flowers are listed from spring through autumn. Light and temperature influence flowering and stem length in celosia.
## Siting and culture
Provide full sun and well-drained soil. Maryland Extension recommends rich, deep loamy soil and at least eight hours of sun for field-grown cut-flower celosia. Keep plants evenly watered during growth, since heat tolerance does not remove the need for moisture.
## Maintenance
Plant outdoors after frost risk has passed. Cut stems when the plumes are fully developed for fresh arrangements; vase life varies by cultivar. For dried use, remove foliage and hang stems in a dark, well-aired place.
