Create design onlineAbout Kosmo Cherry Celosia
Kosmo Cherry is a genetically dwarf wheat celosia selected for compact containers and packs. Its upright main stem branches into multiple dense flower spikes above well-proportioned leaves, creating a bright focal point in a small pot or at the front of a sunny annual bed. PanAmerican Seed lists the plant at 8 inches tall and 8–10 inches wide, with late spring through late summer flowering.
## Form and use
The [PanAmerican Seed Kosmo Cherry profile](https://www.panamseed.com/Products/014503064001110/celosia-kosmo-cherry/) identifies the selection as *Celosia spicata*. It lists an upright habit, 8-inch height, 8–10-inch width, and sun exposure, and notes that Kosmo is bred for pot and pack programs without requiring growth regulators or pinching. The [University of Wisconsin–Madison Extension guide](https://hort.extension.wisc.edu/articles/celosia-celosia-spicata/) confirms the series’ compact 8-inch height and 8–10-inch spread and lists Cherry among its colors.
## Siting
Place in full sun and moist, well-drained soil. An 8–10-inch spacing gives plants room to branch; in containers, use free-draining potting mix and a pot large enough to hold moisture between waterings. The compact form can edge a sunny border or add upright texture to mixed annual plantings.
## Maintenance
Set out after frost or grow in a protected sunny location. Water while plants establish, then keep the soil evenly moist without leaving the pot waterlogged. The Kosmo series flowers without pinching; remove faded flower spikes before seeds mature if volunteers are not wanted.
