About Kosmo Orange Celosia

Kosmo Orange is a genetically dwarf wheat celosia with upright stems, dense orange flower spikes, and multiple side spikes above compact foliage. At about 8 inches tall and 8–10 inches wide, it suits small pots, packs, window boxes, and the front of sunny annual plantings. PanAmerican Seed describes the series as naturally compact and suitable for year-round pot and pack production. ## Form and use The [PanAmerican Seed Kosmo Orange profile](https://www.panamseed.com/Products/014503064003789/celosia-kosmo-orange/) identifies the exact selection as *Celosia spicata*. It lists an 8-inch height, 8–10-inch width, upright habit, sun exposure, and late spring through late summer flowering. The breeder says Kosmo needs no plant growth regulators or pinching and forms a main stem with many side spikes. The [University of Wisconsin–Madison Extension guide](https://hort.extension.wisc.edu/articles/celosia-celosia-spicata/) likewise describes the Kosmo series as 8 inches tall and 8–10 inches wide. ## Siting Grow in full sun and moist, well-drained soil. Use a container with drainage or a sunny bed edge; allow 8–10 inches between plants where a full display is wanted. Celosia tolerates heat, but new plantings still need regular water while establishing. ## Maintenance Set plants outdoors after frost, or grow in a protected sunny position for an early display. Remove spent spikes before seed matures if you want to limit self-sowing. The compact Kosmo series is bred to flower without pinching.
