Kosmo Purple Red Celosia

Kosmo Purple Red is an upright, dwarf wheat celosia with a central flowering stem and several side spikes. Ball Seed and PanAmerican Seed list this selection at about 8 inches tall and 8–10 inches wide, with flowers from late spring through summer and late summer. ## Form and season The [Ball Seed profile](https://info.ballseed.com/PlantInfo/?phid=014503064008930) identifies the selection as Celosia spicata, lists its upright habit and sun exposure, and describes patio-planter and garden use. The [PanAmerican Seed catalog](https://catalog.panamseed.com/view/445948364/154/) gives the compact series size and side-spike form. The live scientific-name string is retained instead of converting the commercial selection name to an unverified cultivar epithet. ## Siting Plant in sun in mixed containers, patio pots, or the front of a seasonal bed. The breeder describes Kosmo as a genetically dwarf series that does not require pinching. ## Maintenance Water consistently during active growth and avoid leaving the potting mix waterlogged. Remove old flower spikes when they fade if a tidier display is desired.
