Old Man Cactus

Cephalocereus senilis is a slow-growing, columnar cactus renowned for its striking shaggy coat of long, silvery-white hairs. These modified spines serve to protect the plant from intense sunlight and frost in its native Mexican habitat. While it can reach heights of fifteen meters in the wild, it remains much smaller as a popular ornamental houseplant. It thrives in exceptionally well-drained soil and requires full sun to maintain its woolly appearance, making it ideal for desert gardens.
