Create design onlineAbout Pink Heartbreaker Redbud Tree
Pink Heartbreaker is a weeping eastern redbud with vigorous cascading branches and clusters of pink flowers in spring. The cultivar name is established in US Plant Patent 23,043, which records the distinctive weeping form and reports a young tree reaching 8.5 feet high and 3.5 feet wide after three years. [Iron Creek Nursery](https://www.ironcreeknursery.com/plant/Cersis-canadensis-Pink-Heartbreaker) lists mature dimensions of 10–15 feet high and 8–10 feet wide.
## Landscape Use
Plant it where the descending branches can be viewed from a path or patio, with clearance for their mature spread. It works as a small specimen tree in a lawn or mixed border; avoid placing it where the canopy will obstruct circulation.
## Growing Conditions
Choose full sun to partial shade and well-drained soil. Water regularly while the tree establishes. Published hardiness ranges differ: Iron Creek lists zones 4–8, while [Sooner Plant Farm](https://www.soonerplantfarm.com/plant/redbud-pink-heartbreaker) lists zones 5–9; use local conditions and nursery guidance when selecting a site.
## Maintenance
Keep the grafted cultivar growth distinct from any rootstock shoots. Remove dead or crossing branches and prune lightly to retain its natural weeping outline.
