Create design onlineAbout Whitewater™ Redbud Tree
Whitewater™ is a weeping eastern redbud with green-and-white variegated leaves and light-purple flowers that appear in early spring. Its foliage shows the strongest white pattern as leaves emerge, then the variegation can soften as leaves mature or grow in heat or deep shade.
## Landscape Use
The cascading form works as a small landscape tree or can be trained lower. The [plant patent](https://patents.google.com/patent/USPP23998P2/en) describes the exact cultivar, variegation and management-dependent height; [Mr. Maple](https://mrmaple.com/products/buy-cercis-canadensis-whitewater-weeping-variegated-redbud-tree) lists about 4–5 feet tall and 6–7 feet wide after ten years.
## Seasonal Interest and Siting
Flowers open in early spring before the leaves. Provide full sun to partial shade and well-drained soil; the patent notes that strong light helps maintain variegation and that deep shade or heat reduces its expression.
## Mature Size
Height depends on staking and nursery training. Published descriptions place typical height around 4–6 feet, with a 6–7-foot spread after ten years.
## Maintenance
Keep the planting site well drained and allow room for the weeping branches to spread.
