About Fireweed

Chamaenerion angustifolium, commonly known as fireweed, is a robust, rhizomatous perennial known for its rapid colonization of disturbed or burnt sites. It features upright, reddish stems reaching up to five feet, adorned with narrow, willow-like leaves. In summer, it produces spectacular terminal racemes of four-petaled, purplish-pink flowers that bloom from the bottom up. This hardy species thrives in full sun and moist, well-drained soils, making it ideal for meadows and restoration.
