Siberian wallflower is the fragrant, orange-yellow Erysimum hybrid identified by Monticello as Erysimum × allionii; Kew treats Cheiranthus × allionii as a synonym of accepted Erysimum × marshallii. Its clustered flowers appear in spring, and the plant is grown as a biennial or short-lived perennial. ## Garden Use
Set the flowering stems near the front of a sunny border or cottage planting, where their warm color and scent can be enjoyed. The orange and yellow flowers make a bright seasonal accent among spring bulbs and later perennials.
## Growing Conditions
Monticello recommends full sun and records flowering from April through June. This wallflower is generally a biennial or short-lived perennial, so treat it as a temporary planting and allow for renewal over time.
## Maintenance
Replace plants as they age or raise new plants from seed to continue the display. Keep the planting open enough for good light and airflow, and water new plants while they establish.
