About Nikki™ Orange Chrysanthemum

Nikki™ Orange is Syngenta’s orange-to-bronze garden mum in the medium-vigorous Nikki™ family. Its decorative flowers and fall timing suit seasonal displays, including large mixed-color containers. ## Flowers and season The [Syngenta product page](https://www.syngentaflowers.com/ams/product/flower/70067024) identifies this selection as a garden mum, lists full sun and fall flowering, and recommends medium or large pots. Syngenta’s [2025 Garden Mum catalog](https://www.syngentaflowers.com/ams/sites/g/files/kgtney2381/files/media/document/2025/05/19/sf-17808-mumscatalog-final-300dpi-2024-07-09.pdf) classifies its flowers as decorative, small to medium, and gives a medium-large vigor rating. The breeder notes that the Nikki family can be slow under high night temperatures in blackcloth production. ## Siting Give garden mums a sunny position. For garden planting, [Iowa State Extension](https://yardandgarden.extension.iastate.edu/how-to/growing-chrysanthemums-iowa) recommends at least six hours of direct sun and moist, well-drained soil. It recommends spring planting in Iowa so plants have more time to establish before winter. ## Maintenance Keep soil evenly moist while plants establish, and avoid poorly drained sites. In Iowa, plant in spring for the best chance of winter survival; local climate and planting time affect perennial performance.
