About Coco plum

Chrysobalanus icaco, commonly known as Cocoplum, is a hardy evergreen shrub or small tree native to coastal and inland regions of Florida, the Caribbean, and tropical America. It features dense, leathery, round foliage that often emerges with a reddish tint. The plant produces small white flowers followed by edible, plum-like drupes ranging from white to dark purple. Highly salt-tolerant and adaptable, it is frequently used for hedges, erosion control, and wildlife support.
