About Pink Variegated Eureka Lemon Bush

Variegated Pink Eureka lemon is a sport of Eureka with variegated foliage and pink-fleshed fruit. The fruit has an acidic lemon flavor and striped green rind when young, which turns yellow as it matures. It is self-fertile and can be grown in the ground in warm regions or in a movable container. ## Foliage and fruit The [UCR Citrus Variety Collection](https://citrusvariety.ucr.edu/crc2367) describes green-and-white foliage variegation and pink flesh; [Four Winds Growers](https://www.fourwindsgrowers.com/products/variegated-pink-lemon-tree) describes green-and-yellow variegated foliage. Both sources identify the plant as variegated. UCR records fruit across the year at Riverside, with the main crop in late winter through early summer. ## Siting and care Provide a sunny, well-drained site. Four Winds recommends at least eight hours of sun and lists Zones 8–11 for outdoor growing, with protection below 32°F. In Zones 4–7, grow it in a container and bring it indoors for winter. Its semi-dwarf trees are listed at 10–15 feet in the ground and 6–8 feet in pots. Water deeply, allowing the soil surface to dry between waterings. ## Maintenance Prune lightly in early spring to keep the tree shaped and remove dead growth. Remove shoots below the graft union. See [UC IPM](https://ipm.ucanr.edu/home-and-landscape/cultural-tips-for-growing-citrus/) for general citrus care guidance.
