A Big Leaf Hydrangea that reportedly will stay purple. Adding aluminum sulfate may change the flowers to blue. Companct plants will need to be planted in a sheltered location for best flowering as this plant blooms on old wood.
Big Leaf Hydrangea do best in moist, well drained, acidic soils and can require special care in Utah. Consider Panicle Hydrangeas as an easier to grow alternative.
