Perkins Pink Yellowwood

Attractive shade tree featuring fragrant 12-inch wisteria-like drooping panicles of light pink pea flowers. Bright green foliage contrasts nicely with darker leaved trees and turns golden-yellow in autumn. Small brown seed pods are easily cleaned up with leaves in fall. Smooth gray bark adds winter interest. Mild drought tolerance once established. Protect from extreme winds and prune in summer to prevent 'bleeding'. Young trees are susceptible to sunscald and may not bloom for the first few years after planting.
