Picardy™ is the Raymond Evison clematis registered under code Evipo 024. It makes large burgundy to reddish-purple flowers and combines an upright first flush with later stems that can spill over a pot or basket.
## Flowers and placement
The [breeder’s Picardy profile](https://www.raymondevisonclematis.com/products/picardy) identifies the selection as Evipo024 and describes free flowering from early summer into early autumn. It gives a height range of 90–120 cm (3–4 ft), recommends it for gardens and containers, and notes that flowering stems can trail from pots. The [RHS cultivar profile](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/194377/clematis-picardy-evipo024-tudor-patio-series-el/details) confirms the reddish-purple flowers, deciduous climbing habit, summer-to-autumn bloom, and a mature height of 1–1.5 m.
## Siting
Grow it in sun or partial shade, with cool roots and moist, well-drained soil. The RHS lists chalk, clay, loam, or sand and says containers should be at least 45 cm deep and wide. Its published spread of 0.5–1 m is approximately 1.6–3.3 ft.
## Maintenance
After the first flush, the breeder says stems may be cut to about 15 cm to encourage regrowth and another flowering when the plant is kept watered and fed. Otherwise, reduce stems in late winter or early spring as directed for this selection.
