Cloudburst Tall Cushion Phlox

Cloudburst is a tall cushion phlox with a broad, billowy mound and fragrant lavender-purple flowers marked by bright pink eyes. It grows about 28 inches tall and 42 inches wide, flowers in spring and summer, and is listed for USDA zones 4a–8b. ## Placement Grow Cloudburst in part sun to sun in average or fertile soil that drains well and stays consistently moist. The breeder recommends good air circulation and regular fertilization. Use it in a border, container, mass planting, or cut-flower garden; its flowers attract bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. ## Seasonal interest The early flowers bring color to spring and summer plantings, while the wide mound fills space between neighboring perennials. Dark-green foliage is described as disease resistant. ## Maintenance Water regularly to maintain even moisture without waterlogging the soil. Plant where air can move around the foliage, and fertilize regularly during active growth.
