Miraguama Palm is a solitary Cuban fan palm with deeply pleated, circular leaves that are dark green above and silvery gray beneath. The reflective undersides and rounded crown make it an effective specimen for a warm, open garden.
## Form and siting
The [Chicago Botanic Garden](https://www.chicagobotanic.org/plant-information/plant-finder/coccothrinax-miraguama-miraguama-palm) describes the species from Cuba's dry inland savannas and reports about 30 ft in suitable conditions; [NParks](https://www.nparks.gov.sg/florafaunaweb/flora/5/8/5816) records a maximum height of 5 m. Because published height references differ, allow generous vertical clearance rather than planning around one figure. Both sources support full sun, and NParks also lists semishade, moderate water, and tolerance of drought and saline coastal conditions.
## Seasonal interest
NParks describes cream-colored flowers on long inflorescences and red fruit that darkens as it matures. The fan foliage is the primary landscape feature.
## Maintenance
Provide regular moisture during establishment and keep the soil well drained. Once established, the species tolerates dry periods, though prolonged heat and drought may still call for supplemental water. Protect it from freezing temperatures and give the mature crown room to spread.
