About Burgundy Wedding Train Coleus

‘Burgundy Wedding Train’ is a trailing coleus with small burgundy leaves edged in lime green. Sakata describes it as a cultivar for containers and garden use, and its 2025 brochure gives a mature height of 12–20 inches with a 24–36-inch spread. See the [Sakata cultivar page](https://sakataornamentals.com/plantname/burgundy-wedding-train/) and [2025 coleus brochure](https://sakataornamentals.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/13/2025/03/Coleus_Product_Brochure_2025.pdf). ## Foliage and placement Use the cascading stems where they can spill over a pot, raised bed, or low wall. The burgundy-and-lime foliage works as a colorful edge or as contrast among green-leaved plants. Sakata reports good performance in sun and shade, so placement can be adjusted to the local climate and container conditions. ## Growing conditions Provide fertile, well-drained soil and regular moisture during warm weather. Check containers often in hot or windy conditions, since they can dry faster than garden soil. Coleus is a tender perennial that is commonly treated as a seasonal annual in cold-winter areas. ## Maintenance Pinch or shear stems to keep the plant within its allotted space and encourage branching. Water when the soil surface begins to dry, and protect it from frost.
