Color Clouds™ Spicy Coleus

Color Clouds™ Spicy is a foliage coleus with broad, harvest-gold leaves patterned in magenta and hot pink. Terra Nova reports a mature size near 10 inches tall by 30 inches wide, a self-branching and trailing habit, and best performance in part to full shade. Its color and broad spread suit a large container, summer border, or mass planting. ## Garden Use Use this selection where its gold and red-pink pattern can be seen up close, such as a shaded patio container or a front-of-border planting. Allow room for its reported width; it can trail over a container edge. Terra Nova describes it as slow to flower and notes that it does not need pinching or growth regulators. ## Growing Conditions Provide part shade to full shade and well-drained soil with moderate organic matter. Water at an average rate and keep the root zone from remaining saturated. Coleus is grown chiefly for foliage; NC State Extension describes rich, loose, moist soil as a useful general starting point for coleus. ## Maintenance Check moisture during warm weather and trim only if the plant outgrows its space.
