FlameThrower™ 'Habanero' PP27077 Coleus

FlameThrower™ Habanero is a warm-toned foliage coleus with fiery orange leaves and purple accents at the centers and edges. Ball Seed lists it for shade or sun and for mixed containers. ## Foliage and size The [Ball Seed cultivar listing](https://info.ballseed.com/PlantInfo/?phid=018006557002333) identifies Habanero as UF09-8-37, protected by PP27,077, and describes its orange-and-purple leaf pattern. It lists a height of 12–18 inches and a width of 16–18 inches. Those cultivar-specific ranges conflict with the existing 18-inch height and 24-inch width labels and the associated numeric points; the labels are corrected and numeric dimensions are left unresolved rather than selecting a point from a range. ## Placement The breeder lists shade and sun exposure and recommends this selection for small pots and mixed containers. [UF/IFAS](https://gardeningsolutions.ifas.ufl.edu/plants/ornamentals/coleus/) advises checking each cultivar's light needs rather than assuming all coleus prefer the same exposure. ## Maintenance Provide well-drained soil enriched with organic matter and keep it lightly moist. Monitor container soil in warm weather and water before it dries out completely.
