Kong Jr.® 'Lime Vein' Coleus

Kong Jr.® ‘Lime Vein’ is a large-leaved coleus with lime-colored veining over a darker leaf center. Its upright, mounded growth is listed at 18–24 inches high and about 20–35 inches wide. ## Color and exposure The [Ball Seed profile](https://www.ballseed.com/PlantInfo/?phid=018006528026486) identifies the Lime Vein selection, gives its size, and recommends shade or partial sun, including use in shade landscapes and containers. Ball notes that lime veining is stronger in deeper shade; brighter shade can reduce the pattern and rose midrib. The Kong Jr. series has well-branched plants and large, distinctive leaves. ## Growing conditions Choose well-drained soil and maintain even moisture. The [Clemson Extension coleus guide](https://hgic.clemson.edu/factsheet/coleus/) recommends keeping new root balls moist but not soggy, then watering when the top inch of soil is dry. Coleus is frost tender and is commonly grown as a seasonal annual in cool climates. ## Maintenance Pinch young shoots to encourage branching and remove flower spikes if foliage should remain the focus. Protect plants from cold and check container moisture regularly.
