About Kong® 'Mosaic' Coleus

Kong® ‘Mosaic’ is a large-leaved coleus in the Kong premium shade series. PanAmerican Seed notes that its leaves have distinctive patterns, with no two leaves alike; the upright, mounded plant is suited to shade containers, mixed plantings, and landscape beds. ## Foliage and form The breeder lists a mature size of 18–20 inches tall and 15–18 inches wide. The [Kong Mosaic profile](https://www.panamseed.com/Products/018003855010575/coleus-premium-shade-kong-mosaic/) identifies the selection as Kakegawa CE15 and gives its size and exposure. The [RHS record](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/507156/coleus-scutellarioides-kong-mosaic-kakegawa-ce15-kong-series-v/details) also connects the Kong Mosaic trade name with Kakegawa CE15. ## Light and placement Full shade is recommended for best performance, with partial sun listed as an option. Coleus can bleach in strong sun when the cultivar is not suited to it. Use this variety in a shaded bed or a well-drained container, and protect it from frost. ## Maintenance Keep the root area moist while the plant establishes, then water when the soil begins to dry. Pinch young shoots for branching and remove flower spikes if you want to maintain a dense foliage display.
