Coleus NOVA 'Roly-Poly'

Coleus NOVA® ‘Roly-Poly’ is a compact, symmetrical cultivar with a mounding habit and red-centered leaves edged in lime green. Terra Nova reports mature size near 12 inches tall and wide, vigorous basal branching, late flowering, part to full shade exposure, and USDA zones 10–11; it recommends containers, hanging baskets, borders, and mass plantings. [Terra Nova’s exact cultivar profile](https://www.terranovanurseries.com/product/coleus-nova-roly-poly/) documents these details. ## Growing and placement Plant Roly-Poly in part or full shade, in well-drained soil with moderate organic matter. Terra Nova lists average garden water; check containers regularly in warm weather so the root ball does not dry completely. Its compact shape also works near the front of a seasonal border. ## Maintenance The cultivar is slow to flower and needs no pinching or growth regulator in production according to Terra Nova. Remove occasional flower spikes if desired, and protect the plant from frost; in climates colder than zone 10 it is generally grown as a warm-season annual.
