Peter’s Wonder is a compact coleus selected for bright green leaves marked with pale veins and cranberry-colored edges, with darker purple and green tones also reported in mature foliage. Its upright, mounding shape and multicolored leaves make it useful close to paths, containers, and shaded garden edges ([Lucas Greenhouses](https://www.lucasgreenhouses.com/plant/Coleus-scutellarioides-Peters-Wonder), [Iron Creek Nursery](https://www.ironcreeknursery.com/plant/Coleus-Peter-s-Wonder)).
## Size and Form
Published profiles place mature height around 15–24 inches and spread around 12–15 inches. The plant can be pinched to encourage a fuller outline. Lucas lists a taller range than Iron Creek, so allow a little extra headroom in containers or mixed borders ([Lucas Greenhouses](https://www.lucasgreenhouses.com/plant/Coleus-scutellarioides-Peters-Wonder), [Iron Creek Nursery](https://www.ironcreeknursery.com/plant/Coleus-Peter-s-Wonder)).
## Site and Seasonal Interest
Grow in part shade or shade with moist, well-drained soil; strong direct sun can fade or scorch the leaves. Coleus is grown for foliage, and the green, purple, yellow, and red accents remain a colorful feature through the warm season ([Iron Creek Nursery](https://www.ironcreeknursery.com/plant/Coleus-Peter-s-Wonder), [North Carolina Extension Gardener Plant Toolbox](https://plants.ces.ncsu.edu/plants/coleus-scutellarioides/)).
## Maintenance
Keep the root zone evenly moist and pinch young stem tips if the plant becomes leggy. Remove flower spikes when they appear to maintain a foliage-focused display. Coleus can be grown outdoors as an annual or kept in a bright indoor position as temperatures cool ([North Carolina Extension Gardener Plant Toolbox](https://plants.ces.ncsu.edu/plants/coleus-scutellarioides/), [Iron Creek Nursery](https://www.ironcreeknursery.com/plant/Coleus-Peter-s-Wonder)).
