Rainbow Mix Coleus

Rainbow Mix is a seed-grown coleus blend, so its foliage varies from plant to plant rather than forming one uniform cultivar. Suppliers describe upright plants with solid and bi-coloured leaves across red, pink, yellow, green, cream, and related shades. ## Size and placement Published size varies: one supplier lists plants about 12–14 inches tall and wide, while another gives a mature height of 50 cm and spread of 30 cm. The current 0.4 m height sits between these descriptions; the display range is normalized to 12–20 inches tall and 12–14 inches wide. Use the blend in containers or borders, where its varied leaf colors can be seen together. See the [Pinetree Garden Seeds product page](https://www.superseeds.com/products/rainbow-mix-coleus) and [Promesse de Fleurs product page](https://www.promessedefleurs.ie/annuals/flower-seeds/flower-seeds-by-variety/coleus-seeds/coleus-rainbow-mix-seeds.html). ## Growing conditions Start seed indoors before the last frost and transplant outdoors after frost danger passes. Provide part sun to shade and fertile, well-drained soil. Water seedlings regularly while they establish; container plants need more frequent watering in summer. ## Maintenance Pinch or remove flower buds when a compact leafy form is preferred; flowering stems can make the plants leggy.
