Create design onlineAbout Stained Glassworks™ Royalty Coleus
Stained Glassworks™ Royalty is a foliage coleus with burgundy leaves and rose-colored accents. RCOP identifies it as the former Stained Glassworks Royalty selection and lists an upright habit with an 18–24 inch height and spread; a Penn State shade-container trial recorded a larger 22-by-33-inch specimen.
## Landscape Use
Plant Royalty in a container or border for a strong dark-leaf accent. Its rose tones contrast well with chartreuse foliage and white flowers. Treat the listed dimensions as a guide because trial and retail measurements differ.
## Siting
Grow in part sun or part shade in moist, well-drained soil. Coleus can wilt in strong sun and become leggy in deep shade, so use filtered light where afternoons are hot. The [NC State Extension profile](https://plants.ces.ncsu.edu/plants/coleus-scutellarioides/) summarizes Coleus growing conditions.
## Maintenance
Water regularly and keep the root zone evenly moist, not saturated. Pinch stem tips to keep the plant bushy and remove flower spikes if foliage is the main display. Check leaves for aphids, whiteflies, and spider mites.
