About Stained Glassworks™ Trailing Plum Coleus

Stained Glassworks™ Trailing Plum is a spreading foliage coleus with plum-colored leaves and bright rose margins. Premier Growers lists a 6–10 inch height and 18–24 inch width, and recommends partial sun or partial shade. ## Landscape Use Let its spreading stems soften the edge of a container or planting bed. The plum and rose foliage works well beside silver or chartreuse plants and can trail over a low wall or planter rim. The [NC State Extension profile](https://plants.ces.ncsu.edu/plants/coleus-scutellarioides/) describes Coleus use in borders, hanging baskets, and containers. ## Siting Choose partial sun or partial shade and moist, well-drained soil. Protect the leaves from harsh afternoon sun in hot climates, and avoid saturated ground. ## Maintenance Water regularly during active growth and pinch stems when needed to maintain a full, spreading form. Remove flower spikes if you want to emphasize foliage. Coleus is usually grown as a warm-season annual outdoors; bring a cutting indoors before frost if you want to preserve the selection.
