Create design onlineAbout ColorBlaze® Chocolate Drop Coleus
ColorBlaze® Chocolate Drop is a trailing, foliage-grown coleus with rounded, lobed leaves in green and deep crimson tones. It softens container edges and also works as a spreading accent in warm-season beds.
## Foliage and form
The rounded leaves have green margins and rich crimson centers and veins. Plants grow about 18–24 inches tall and spread 18–24 inches, with stems that can trail up to 24 inches. The breeder lists it as an annual for USDA zones 10–11 and classifies it as a container spiller. ## Siting
Grow in sun or shade, with afternoon shade helpful in hot, dry climates. Use it near a container edge or at the front of a bed where its trailing habit can be seen. [Coleus growing guidance](https://www.provenwinners.com/how-plant/coleus)
## Maintenance
Keep moisture steady during active growth and water when the soil surface starts to dry. Pinch the tips to encourage branching, or let stems trail naturally. The plant is grown for foliage, so flower removal is optional rather than required. It is frost tender and is usually grown as an annual outside warm climates. Taxonomy follows [Kew’s Plants of the World Online](https://powo.science.kew.org/taxon/446165-1).
