Cordyline australis 'Torbay Dazzler' is an evergreen, palm-like tree with upright crowns of green, sword-shaped leaves striped in creamy white. The bright variegation makes this named selection useful as a focal plant against darker garden backgrounds or in a spacious container.
## Size and placement
The exact-selection [RHS profile](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/61447/cordyline-australis-torbay-dazzler-v/details) lists a mature height of 2.5–4 m and spread of 1–1.5 m, with a 10–20 year time to maturity. It recommends full sun or partial shade, well-drained soil, and a sheltered position. [Kernock Park Plants](https://www.kernock.co.uk/acatalog/info_U7046.html) also identifies the cultivar and describes its green-and-cream striped foliage, upright habit, and use in architectural planting.
## Landscape use
Give the mature crown room in a border, courtyard, or large container. The cream stripes brighten a planting without requiring a flower display, and the evergreen foliage carries the effect through the year.
## Maintenance
Use a free-draining site and keep container compost evenly moist during active growth. RHS notes drought resistance and says the plant is not usually pruned. Protect from the harshest frosts; the RHS hardiness rating is an H rating for UK conditions, not a USDA-zone conversion. The species profile at [North Carolina Extension](https://plants.ces.ncsu.edu/plants/cordyline-australis/common-name/cabbage-tree/) lists USDA zones 9a–11b.
