About Berry Chiffon Threadleaf Tickseed

Satin & Lace™ ‘Berry Chiffon’ is a compact hybrid tickseed with creamy white petals surrounding a large plum-to-raspberry eye. The eye color expands across the petals in cooler weather. [Sooner Plant Farm’s exact selection listing](https://www.soonerplantfarm.com/plant/tickseed-berry-chiffon) gives zones 4–9, a 15–18 inch height, and an 18–24 inch spread; the [Chicago Botanic Garden](https://www.chicagobotanic.org/plant-information/plant-finder/coreopsis-berry-chiffon-berry-chiffon-coreopsis) records the same cultivar, long bloom season, border use and butterfly interest. ## Flowers and garden role The flowers shift from white with a saturated berry-colored eye toward more extensive pink or raspberry tones as temperatures cool. This compact, mounded perennial works in a border, mass planting, or pollinator garden. Its nearly sterile flowers do not require routine deadheading to prevent unwanted seedlings. ## Growing conditions Grow in full sun and well-drained soil. Published heights vary: Park Seed lists 12 inches, while Sooner Plant Farm gives 15–18 inches; the point height is set to Park’s explicit 12-inch figure and the display range is aligned to that source. Width remains at the existing 0.6 m point with its 18–24 inch label, consistent with nursery descriptions. ## Maintenance Water while establishing and reduce irrigation once the plant is settled, while avoiding waterlogged soil. Remove faded stems for appearance if desired; the nearly sterile flowers can otherwise be left to finish their long seasonal display.
