About Big Bang Full Moon Tickseed

Big Bang™ Full Moon is the Coreopsis cultivar ‘Full Moon’ (USPP19364), the first selection in breeder Darrell Probst’s Big Bang series. [Monrovia’s exact product page](https://www.monrovia.com/big-bang-153-full-moon-tickseed.html) lists USDA zones 5–9, a 24–30 inch height, and an 18-inch spread. [The plant patent](https://patents.google.com/patent/USPP19364P2/en) confirms the cultivar denomination ‘Full Moon’, bright yellow flowers, a clumping habit, and cold hardiness at least to zone 5. ## Flowers and placement Large bright yellow, daisy-like flowers appear over a long summer-to-early-fall season. This herbaceous perennial forms a clump and suits a sunny border, perennial bed, or container. Its extended bloom and disease-resistant foliage make it useful where reliable seasonal color is wanted. ## Growing conditions Plant in full sun in moist, well-drained soil. Water regularly through the first growing season, then reduce watering once established. Published size information varies: Monrovia lists an 18-inch spread, while the patent and RHS give a broader plant width. The existing 1.5 m width is unsupported by all consulted sources, so the exact branded product’s 18-inch point is used. Height is left without a numeric point because sources give ranges; the display label follows Monrovia’s exact-product range. ## Maintenance Remove faded flower stems to encourage repeat bloom, and cut back old herbaceous growth before spring growth begins. Use the cultivar-specific zone information for planting decisions rather than assuming all Coreopsis hybrids have the same hardiness.
