['Presto' large-flowered tickseed](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/249927/coreopsis-grandiflora-presto-d/details) is a compact, clump-forming perennial with green foliage and bright golden-yellow daisies. The cultivar is especially floriferous, with a mix of semi-double and more fully double flowers, and is suited to sunny beds and containers.
## Flowers and form
[Fleuroselect records](https://www.fleuroselect.com/trials-and-awards/awarded-varieties/variety/presto) flowers about 6 cm across and a compact plant about 15 cm high by 20 cm wide in its award description, with flowering from June to August. [HM.CLAUSE lists](https://www.clausehomegarden.com/flowers/presto-r) production heights of 30–50 cm without a growth regulator and 20–30 cm with one, so size depends on the growing context. The RHS gives a broader garden range of 0.1–0.5 m for both height and spread.
## Siting
Grow in full sun for best flowering; the RHS also lists partial shade. It accepts chalk, loam, or sandy soil that drains well, and should be kept moist during dry spells. Its compact habit works at the front of a sunny border and in patio pots.
## Maintenance
Remove faded flowers to encourage continued bloom, then cut the plant back in winter. Divide established clumps in spring or autumn if needed.
